Mysore Race Course is a race track in Mysore, Karnataka province, India. The Mysore Hippodrome was founded in 1891 by the King of Mysore, Chamaraja Vadiyar. The racetrack was originally located next to the current J.C. In 1920, a new racetrack was built on a 152-acre site.
The competition was held at the Royal Turf Club of Calcutta. The Bangalore Racecourse was founded in 1951 and also began hosting races in Mysore. The existing racetrack was leased from the Karnataka government in 1977. A new hippodrome structure at the foot of the Chamundi Hills was built by Krishnaraja Vadiyar in 1906.
The Mysore Race Club has 250 members. The race track is 2000 meters long and 30 meters wide. The straight line is 500 m long. The Mysore Derby season lasts from November to February and again from May to July.
