MRTV is a television network owned by Myanmar Radio and Television.
The Myanmar television service was first introduced as a test facility in Yangon in June 1979. MRTV was first launched on June 3, 1980, and a regular television service was officially launched in 1981 using the NTSC standard. In 2005, MRTV had 195 TV broadcast stations across the country.
In October 2013, MRTV began broadcasting on digital terrestrial television using the DVB-T2 system, as in most ASEAN countries. 18 TV channels and 3 radio channels from Myanmar are included in the MRTV multiplex system. MRTV has designed its news interface in accordance with the modern starter series style and will have a well-designed newsroom. The duration of the broadcast also increased to 18 hours (formerly - 10 hours).
On February 15, 2015, MRTV added 5 new TV channels to its Multiplex Play Out system, namely MRTV-4, Channel 7, 5 Plus, MNTV and Channel 9. On March 24, 2018, MRTV added 5 new TV channels to its system. Multiplex playback system such as Mizzima TV, DVB TV, Kanal K, YTV and Fortune TV.
