India - DD Kashir LIVE

DD Kashir is Durdarshan's regional TV subsidiary in Jammu and Kashmir, which is owned by the Indian Ministry of Broadcasting and focuses on Kashmir culture and heritage traditions, broadcasting from Dordarshan Kendra Srinagar, Jammu, Leh.

Durdarshan launched a channel to counter Pakistani extremist propaganda in the Kashmir Valley. The DD Kashir program includes programs dedicated to the culture and traditions of Kashmir and the history of the Kashmir Valley. One of the programs dedicated to Kashmir was the Budkhsha program, which told about the life of the historical sultan Zayn-ul-Abidin. It has partnered with All India Radio to deploy high-power transmitters along the India-Pakistan border to counter Pakistani propaganda.

DD Kashir is a Kashmir-language satellite channel operated by Doordarshan Studios in Srinagar, Jammu and Leh. Created in 2003, DD Kashir focuses on entertainment series, infotainment, news and current affairs, social and cultural programming, and film programming. In the ground mode, DD Kashir is available to 96% of the valley's population.

It was previously operated from Delhi, but in 2006 the Center decided to move the Durdarshan Kashir Canal back to Srinagar from Delhi more than 17 years after the violence in Kashmir in the late 1980s, thereby fulfilling a long-standing demand from the Valley.

From August 15, 2000, the DD Kashir channel became round-the-clock. The channel aired 14 and a half hours of the program daily. Of these, six hours are for custom programming, an additional four and a half hours are occupied by internal programming and news / current affairs programming, while archival programming takes four hours a day. Special programs for the audience cover Gojri, Pahari, Ladakhi, Dogri, Shina, Balti, Pashto.
