WHDH, virtual channel 7 (digital channel UHF 35), is an independent television station licensed to Boston, Massachusetts, United States.
The station is owned by Sunbeam Television, as part of a duopoly with WLVI (channel 56), a CW subsidiary licensed by Cambridge. The two stations share studios at Bulfinch Place (near the Government Center) in downtown Boston and transmitter facilities in Newton, Massachusetts.
From 1982 to 1995, WHDH was affiliated with the Boston CBS, inheriting the affiliation of its predecessor on channel 7, WNAC-TV. On January 2, 1995, WHDH changed to NBC, after CBS moved to WBZ-TV (channel 4) under an entire group affiliation agreement with its owner,
Westinghouse Broadcasting (CBS and Westinghouse merged in November, making WBZ-TV a station owned and operated by CBS). On January 1, 2017, after losing NBC affiliation to a new ownership and operation station, WBTS-LD (channel 8, now Telemundo O&O WYCN-LD in Providence, Rhode Island), WHDH became an independent station News intensive.
